• Account details: your email address, username and password (stored as a hash by our authentication provider, not in readable form), and any profile details you add.
• Listings and photos you upload, and your watchlist, offers, trades, reviews and saved searches.
• Messages you send to other members about listings and orders.
• Order details: items, amounts, delivery method, and delivery addresses and tracking details you or the other party provide.
• Support requests and the messages in them.
• Payment and payout details handled by Stripe (see below).

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number is entered on Stripe’s hosted checkout and ByteBack never sees or stores it. We receive confirmation of payment status and the amounts involved.

Sellers receive payouts through Stripe Connect Express. Sellers give identity and bank details to Stripe directly, under Stripe’s own terms and privacy notice.

• To run your account, show listings, and process orders, offers, trades and payouts.
• To let buyers and sellers deliver items to each other.
• To handle support requests, problems, refunds and disputes.
• To send account and order notifications.
• To keep the service secure and prevent fraud and abuse.

• Public: your username, public profile details, listings, photos and reviews.
• Messages between members are visible to the two participants. ByteBack support does not read general messages.
• An order’s buyer and seller can see the order details they need to complete it, including the delivery address once it is provided.
• ByteBack support can see order details and the messages in support requests, so we can review a reported problem.

We use Supabase to host our database, authentication and file storage, and Stripe to process payments and payouts. [Hosting provider and any other processors to be confirmed.]

ByteBack uses only essential cookies that keep you signed in (authentication session cookies). We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Stripe may set its own cookies on its hosted checkout page.

You can edit your profile and manage your listings in your account. For access, correction or deletion requests, use Help & support (choose “My account”). We may need to keep some order and payment records where required for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons. [Retention periods and legal basis to be confirmed.]
